For the Samichlaus-Gesellschaft Kloten, Websitemaster developed samichlaus-buelach.ch, a modern booking and administration platform for traditional St. Nicholas visits. The goal of the project was to digitally support the organization of Samichlaus activities while providing families and businesses with an easy way to book visits online.
At the core of the platform is a comprehensive online booking system, allowing families and companies to request a visit from Samichlaus and his assistant Schmutzli. All incoming bookings are automatically transferred into a custom-built planning and administration application, enabling the organizers to efficiently coordinate assignments.
The integrated planning platform for the event coordinator (“Chlauschef”) supports the management of Samichlaus performers, Schmutzli assistants, and drivers. To handle a large number of bookings efficiently, several specialized tools were implemented, including:
- a complex scheduling and booking system
- planning lists and operational overviews for assignment coordination
- a professional user management system with roles and permissions
- an integrated mailing system for communication with participants
These features allow the organization to efficiently manage and coordinate the many Samichlaus visits taking place throughout the Bülach region.
As with all Websitemaster projects, the platform was developed with a strong focus on usability and intuitive user guidance. Families can easily book visits online, while the organization benefits from a powerful digital system for internal planning and coordination.
From a technical perspective, the platform was implemented using modern web technologies, a stable system architecture, and advanced security mechanisms, including protection against brute-force attacks and other potential security risks, ensuring a secure and reliable operation.
The result is a modern digital infrastructure supporting a long-standing tradition, significantly reducing organizational workload while simplifying the booking process for families and businesses.
